Entretanto, é de grande importância estabelecer diretrizes integradas de planejamento urbano, de circulação e de transportes para direcionar o desenvolvimento urbano. É necessário privilegiar o transporte público no espaço urbano, dando-lhe maior prioridade no sistema viário em relação ao transporte individual. Este trabalho tem como objetivo explanar sobre a relação entre o planejamento dos transportes urbanos e o planejamento urbano, abordando instrumentos de planejamento e gestão urbanos previstos no Estatuto da Cidade.

Abstract
The urban planning and the planning of the transports must be instruments to better search efficiency of the infrastructure and the urban services. It´s notable that exists a complexity in the interrelation between characteristics of the urban land use and the transports. The transports system and the planning of the land use are interrelated on, therefore the distribution of the use and occupation of the ground affects the demand of trips, and the investments in the system of transports affect the decisions of use of the ground. However it must have integrated lines of direction of urban planning, circulation and transports to direct the urban development. It is necessary to privilege the public transport in the urban space, giving bigger priority in the road system in relation to the individual transport. This work objectives to explain about the relation enters the planning of the urban transports and the urban planning, approaching instruments of foreseen planning and urban management in the City´s Staute.
